Martina Hingis

    Martina Hingis is one of the greatest tennis players in the history of women's tennis.
    She was born on 30th September in Kosice, Czechoslovakia. Martina started playing tennis at the age of three. Her parents divorced, but her mother remarried in 1988. She moved to Switzerland with her mother and stepfather. They have lived there ever since.
    Martina Hingis became the European Champion for players under 18 in 1996 at the age of 15. Martina won all four Grand Slam doubles titlies in 1998.
    Martina is so succesful, because she is determined and hardworking. A part from tennis she is keen on other sports. She often rides a horse, goes skiing. She also likes going to museums, art galleries, theatre and cinema. When she retires from tennis, she would like to keep to race horses.
